Minister for Culture, Communications and Sport, Patrick O’Donovan TD has announced funding of over €1.4 million for the promotion of Irish arts globally through Culture Ireland’s Regular Grants Programme.
The funding will benefit 187 projects taking place in over 41 countries, covering circus, dance, film, literature, music, opera, theatre and visual arts.
Announcing the grants, Minister O’Donovan said:
“Culture Ireland is central to the support and promotion of Irish arts internationally. The growing demand for Culture Ireland’s funding highlights the strong global interest in Irish creative talent. I am pleased to announce that I am allocating over €1.4 million in funding to Culture Ireland for Irish artists to continue to showcase their work around the world.”
• Circus: Hands Down Circus Ltd presenting Tape That! (Denmark/Sweden), Mini Art Foundation presenting Hannah Scully’s An Stoirm (Bulgaria), Fanzini Productions present Ballet Poulet (Wales), and Murray Molloy presenting ‘Born of Normal Parents (Cape Verde/ Cameroon)
• Dance: touring supports for Selma Daniel Dance presenting AdoleTA! (China), John Scott Dance presenting Four Solos by Merce Cunningham (France), Mufutau Yusuf touring Impasse (Austria/Mexico/Panama), and Teac Damsa presenting MÁM by Michael Keegan-Dolan (Chile)
• Film: support towards attendance by Irish filmmakers at significant international film festivals such as the Chicago International Film Festival (USA), the Irish Film Festival LA (USA), the Dinard Festival of British and Irish Film (France), and the San Francisco Irish Film Festival (USA)
• Literature: Irish writers appearing at various international literary festivals, such as the Charleston Literary Festival (USA), the Irish Literature Festival Oslo (Norway), and the Vancouver Writers Festival (Canada)
• Music: Support for international tours across the world covering a range of artists and genres including Bricknasty (USA), Irish Baroque Orchestra (USA), The Fureys (the Netherlands), Kíla (USA/Canada), Maggie Carty (Australia), Mhaol (UK), The Murder Capital (USA), Musici Ireland (Luxembourg), Pillow Queens (Europe), Quiet Music Ensemble (Germany), and YARD (France)
• Theatre: Support for international tours, including Branar (Australia), Brokentalkers (USA), Dead Centre (USA), Fishamble (Germany/Switzerland), Gare St Lazare (France/Japan), and Pan Pan (UK)
• Visual Arts: International exhibitions by Irish artists including Thomas Brezing (Italy), Dorothy Cross (Croatia), Amanda Jane Graham (UK), Anita Groener (USA), Oona Hyland (UK), Niamh O’Malley (France), John Noel Smith (Germany)
• Multidisciplinary: Continued support towards the programme of Irish arts and culture at key festivals and venues including the Ars Electronica Festival (Austria), the Cáceres Irish Fleadh 2025 (Spain), the Irish Cultural Centre Hammersmith (UK), and Pa Gya! (Ghana)
