Minister Patrick O’Donovan announces over €1.1 million in funding for Culture Ireland’s promotion of Irish arts globally

Minister for Culture, Communications and Sport, Patrick O’Donovan TD, has announced funding of over €1.1 million for the promotion of Irish arts globally through Culture Ireland’s Regular Grants Programme.

The funding will benefit 129 projects taking place in over 33 countries, covering circus, dance, film, literature, music, opera, theatre and visual arts.

Announcing the grants, Minister O’Donovan said: “This significant investment of over €1.1 million by Culture Ireland highlights the Government’s commitment to supporting Irish artists and cultural organisations in reaching international audiences. Through this funding, we are showcasing Ireland’s rich artistic talent on the global stage and strengthening our cultural connections.”

 

  • Circus: Eden Arts performance of Absolutely Barking (UK), Graham Milligan/Hands Down Circus performances of Tape That! (New Zealand) and ROGU Arts Ltd presentation of Mobius: Stories from the Book of Fire (Colombia).
  • Dance: Monica Munoz Marin performance of Fall and Float (Poland) and Luke Murphy’s Attic Projects performances of Volcano (Hong Kong).
  • Film: Rayleen Clancy presentation of Mutualism (Spain), roAroTorio presentation of films by 5 Irish artists (France), Irish Film & TV Uk delivering the Irish Film Festival London (UK), Irish Heritage Club – Emerald City Irish Film Festival (USA), Ruairi Bradley screening We Beg to Differ (USA) and Irish Screen Projects Inc. (Australia) screening in 5 cities (Australia).
  • Literature: Biblioasis/Elaine Feeney literary events (Canada & USA), L N Ideogramma Limited (Cyprus), Judy Kravas, Road Books at the Small Publishers Fair (UK), Auckland Writers Festival Waituhi o Tamaki presentation of Irish writers in solus and group events at Auckland Writers Festival (New Zealand), Amateurs! by Joanna Walsh in various cities (Europe), Teamwork Arts Private Limited presenting at a Literature Festival (India) and Push The Boat Out presenting poetry readings (UK).
  • Music: Support for international tours across the world covering a range of artists and genres including 3 on the Bund (Germany), John Blek (Europe), Irish Baroque Orchestra (UK), Leonard Barry Trio with Cathy Jordan (Switzerland), Ailís Ní Ríain (Estonia), Yard (France) and Blánaid Murphy (Italy)
  • Theatre: Support for international tours, including Phillida Eves (Australia), Cahoots NI Ltd. (UK), Tempest Projects Limited (China & Netherlands), Brokentalkers (North America), Gate Theatre (UK) and Pan Pan (China).
  • Visual Arts: International exhibitions by Irish artists including Kerlin Gallery (France), Stoney Road Press (UK), Jack Hogan (France), SMUT Press (Italy), Michelle Kettle (Australia), Alannah Robins (Sweden) and Bill Harris (Columbia)
  • Multidisciplinary: Continued support towards the programme of Irish arts and culture at key festivals and venues including Irish Music and Dance in London (UK), Irish Cultural Hammersmith (UK), Back Art Foundation (Bangladesh) and Fingerspitz AB (Norway & Sweden)
