Fishamble’s production of The Humours of Bandon by Margaret McAuliffe will tour throughout the US and Canada, to a network of theatres and arts centres for the next eight weeks, starting later this week at the Irish American Heritage Center in Chicago, Illinois.

Winner of the Little Gem Award after its premiere at the Dublin Fringe Festival, the show was acclaimed by audiences and critics as part of Culture Ireland’s Edinburgh Showcase in 2017.

Jim Culleton, Artistic Director, Fishamble, commented: “I am so delighted that Fishamble is touring this delightful play by Margaret Mc Auliffe, inspired by her experience as a World Champion Irish dancer, which has been wowing audiences in Ireland and internationally.  We look forward to sharing it with audiences in North America, in association with Solas Nua, and with thanks to our colleagues at fantastic theatres and cultural centres, including the Network of Irish Cultural Centers of North America, who have been working with us since 2019 to bring it to fruition.”

The 14-venue tour marks another substantial development of the Network of Irish Cultural Centers of North America, established to create and support sustainable touring opportunities for Irish artists and follows up the highly successful tour of Arán agus Im by Manchán Magan in 2022.
