Networking at the Fleadh: Culture Ireland/IFI
As part of this year’s Galway Film Fleadh, Culture Ireland co-hosted the Networking at the Fleadh in partnership with the Irish Film Institute as part of the industry element of the Fleadh’s programme. This session was an opportunity for Irish filmmakers, distributors and resource organisations and producers, to hear directly from international festival programmers about festival programming policies and trends as well as practical information on timelines and submission policies.
Pictured above is the Minister for Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport & Media, Catherine Martin TD, who met with the panellists just after the session.
Now in its 35th year, the Fleadh is an important meeting point for the Irish film industry, with many international festival directors travelling to Galway with Culture Ireland support.
Sunniva O’Flynn, Head of Irish Film Programming, chaired the session with a panel of international programmers.
Panellists:
Irish Film Festival Boston Dawn Morrissey
Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Festival Julie Rousson
Newport Beach Film Festival Cindy Cisneros
Toronto Film Festival Lauren Clarke
Culture Ireland and the IFI are very grateful to the panellists as well as the other international programmers who attended the event and met with filmmakers in the subsequent networking session.
