Invitation to Apply to Participate in Culture Ireland’s Delegation at the Edinburgh Festivals, 2019
The Edinburgh Festivals offer an important platform for Irish artists to gain international recognition for their work and generate further touring opportunities. In 2019, Culture Ireland will host a networking event to facilitate direct engagement with international promoters in Edinburgh for the festivals.
Culture Ireland invites applications from those who wish to be part of the Irish delegation to attend this networking event to promote their work to international arts industry presenters and promoters in Edinburgh on 21st August 2019 (mid-afternoon). A travel grant of €450 will be awarded to a limited number of successful applicants.
Applications will be assessed on the basis of:
• The suitability of the project/work for promotion to international delegates in Edinburgh.
• The track record of the artist/company in presenting work abroad.
• The list of international contacts interested in the work of the artist/company
• The capacity of the artist/company to avail of opportunities to tour internationally in 2020/2021.
Applicants must be available to be in Edinburgh on the afternoon of Wednesday 21st August 2019 to attend the Culture Ireland international networking event.
The deadline for receipt of applications is 5pm Friday 5th July 2019.
This year, Culture Ireland is supporting eight productions to present their work at the Edinburgh Fringe. In addition, Irish writers will appear at the Edinburgh International Books Festival with Culture Ireland support and Prime Cut Productions/ Oona Doherty will present Hard to be Soft: A Belfast Prayer at the Edinburgh International Festival.
PLEASE NOTE: In the case of a company, only one application for either an artist or company manager will be eligible for consideration. Artists and/or companies already in receipt of Culture Ireland support to showcase in Edinburgh this year are not eligible to apply.
