Invitation to Apply for Participation in the Culture Ireland Delegation at IPAY, 21-25 Jan 2020

Apply for Participation in the Culture Ireland Delegation at IPAY (International Association for Performing Arts for Youth)
21 – 25 January 2020.

Culture Ireland invites applications from performing arts organisations who wish to promote their work to international arts industry presenters and promoters at IPAY (International Association for Performing Arts for Youth) as part of the Irish delegation being led by Culture Ireland.

Ireland has been selected as the Spotlight Country for 2020 at IPAY in Philadelphia, USA. IPAY is the pre-eminent industry and showcase opportunity for the performing arts for younger audiences and is attended by approximately 300 international programmers and presenters. In recent years, Irish theatre companies have had considerable success in generating North American tours from their presentation at IPAY. Branar and Prime Cut have been selected to perform as part of the Official Showcase Programme and Cahoots NI and Fidget Feet will also participate in presenting work. It should be noted that the official showcase performances are selected by IPAY and their decisions have been finalised.
In January 2020, Culture Ireland will lead a delegation representing the Irish sector for younger audiences. In addition to the companies being showcased, a limited number of successful applicants who wish to participate as delegates to network and promote their work will be offered a travel grant of €1,500.

Applications will be assessed on the basis of:

• The suitability of the project/works for promotion to international delegates.
• The track record of the artist/company in presenting work abroad.
• The list of international contacts interested in the work of the artist/company.
• The capacity of the artist/company to avail of opportunities to tour internationally in 2020/2021.

Applicants must be available to attend IPAY for its full duration and participate in preparatory events as well as scheduled events over the IPAY weekend.

The deadline for receipt of applications is 5pm Friday 18th October 2019.

PLEASE NOTE:

Culture Ireland is working in partnership with The Arts Council of Ireland, the Arts Council of Northern Ireland and the British Council NI to ensure attendance by a wide range of stakeholders from the sector.

If you are not eligible for this call but would like to attend (ie festival, venue, resource organisation etc.), please review the schemes provided by the Arts Council/An Chomhairle Ealaíon and the Arts Council of Northern Ireland (ACNI) as they may be in a position to support you.
