Consultation on Culture Ireland Strategy 2021–2025
Culture Ireland’s Strategy 2021–2025 will be created in consultation with our key stakeholders, including artists, partner organisations and resource bodies.
Culture Ireland is currently operating under the Culture Ireland Strategy 2017-2020. The commencement of the process of drafting a new strategy was stalled by the global COVID-19 public health crisis which had an immeasurable impact on the Irish arts sector and the global landscape within which we operate.
Culture Ireland is now initiating the process of drafting a revised strategy for the period 2021–2025. This strategy will set out Culture Ireland’s vision and direction for the next four years. It will act as a planning tool aimed at providing a comprehensive overview of the measures that are needed to strengthen Culture Ireland's commitment to act as a reliable and adaptable source of support and promotion for Irish artists and arts organisations to present their work worldwide.
Objectives of this consultation
Culture Ireland’s Strategy 2021–2025 will be created in consultation with our key stakeholders, including artists, partner organisations and resource bodies. The primary objective of this consultation process is to ensure that all interested and affected parties have the opportunity to feed into the Culture Ireland Strategy for the period 2021–2025.
Culture Ireland invites all organisations, groups or individuals with an interest in the promotion of Irish arts internationally to submit their views and comments.
Culture Ireland’s Strategy 2021–2025 will focus on delivering our mission
To promote and advance Irish arts worldwide, strengthening Ireland’s cultural profile and global reputation and increasing career opportunities for Irish artists globally
Culture Ireland will continue to give specific priority to:
1. Providing support for Irish artists and arts organisations in all their diversity for the presentation of their work internationally.
2. Developing diverse international markets and increased audiences for Irish arts.
3. Encouraging Irish artists to collaborate with global partners and supporting the presentation of collaborative work.
Culture Ireland's Strategy 2021–2025 will reflect the values and issues we wish to embrace: diversity, inclusivity, gender balance, environmental sustainability, and the promotion of the Irish language. It will take account of the aims of Global Ireland 2025 and in particular the role of culture in achieving the ambition to double Ireland’s global impact. Further it will take account of the significant national and global changes since the introduction of Culture Ireland’s strategy in 2017. These include the changed landscape of the arts sector in Ireland and globally, the move to online presentation owing to travel restrictions related to the COVID-19 pandemic. Overall, there has been a shift towards more collaborative works between nations and developing global networks. New marketplaces and showcases have been developed providing the chance to explore what Culture Ireland can do to enhance international opportunities.

The information provided by respondents will assist in shaping the content and focus of the Culture Ireland Strategy 2021–2025. Respondents are welcome to feed into the consultation process without following this format and may submit their input as a word document by email to email@example.com.
