Irish musician, Camille O'Sullivan, returns to the Irish Arts Center with her 3-piece band for 8 encore performances. Camille's dramatic and theatrical interpretations of songs by Jacques Brel, Nick Cave, Tom Waits, David Bowie, Radiohead, and more have stunned audiences and won her awards and fans around the world.
Sexy and fierce, amusing and mesmerising, Camille transforms every song into an emotional, theatrical experience.
Although not easily apparent while watching her performances, Camille O’Sullivan took somewhat of a circuitous route to the stage. She first studied architecture, winning the prestigious Architectural Association of Ireland Award in 2000. However, it wasn’t until a near fatal car accident that Camille decided to pursue her dream of singing. Her ability as a performer shone at The Famous Spiegeltent and she soon ventured into the world of acting; becoming an equally skilled thespian. The remarkably diverse artist’s love of story-telling and song is clear on the 2012 album Changeling, showcasing reinterpretations of tracks from a wide variety of artists, such as Arcade Fire and Nine Inch Nails.
