2016 Commemorative and Celebratory Irish Film Season London

March 2016 to November 2016
Various venues across London.

The 2016 Commemorative and Celebratory Irish Film Season London is a series of Irish Film Projects at venues in London including Prince Charles Cinema, BAFTA, the Irish Embassy and other London cinemas.

The season includes four main events: the St. Patrick’s Weekend celebration of Irish & British films, a screening of the Irish Film Board’s specially commissioned AFTER '16 shorts, a screening of the ‘The Irish Rebellion’ documentary & a series of film screenings accompanied by a lecture, mapping the changing relationship between Ireland & Britain over the last 100 years in collaboration with St. Mary’s University.

Every year, Irish Film London presents the latest and greatest of Irish Film & Animation to a London audience. The organisation runs events through the year, including the film section of the St. Patrick’s Day Festival with the GLA, and its activities then culminate in the 5-day Irish Film Festival London in November each year.Through Premiere screenings, Director Q&A sessions, related workshops, exhibitions and performances, the organisation aims to bring together industry professionals, film fans and fans of Irish Arts & Culture alike. Focusing on Irish productions, scripts and casts, IFL strives to provide a significant platform for Irish Film in London, and to ensure that Irish creative talent continues to be promoted here in the UK.
