This includes resource organisations who support Irish writers and illustrators whose work is aimed at younger readers.<\/p>\n<p>The<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bolognachildrensbookfair.com\/en\/home\/878.html\">\u00a0<strong>Bologna Children\u2019s Book Fair<\/strong><\/a><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>is the world\u2019s leading trade fair for the children\u2019s publishing industry, featuring approximately 1500 exhibitors from 90 countries and regions.<br \/>\nDuring the event, publishers will meet literary agents, international colleagues, and translators to develop further opportunities for Irish writers to reach an international readership.<br \/>\nThe Bologna Children\u2019s Book Fair will run from 5 \u2013 8 April 2027.<\/p>\n<p>Applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>An established track record as an independent publisher or resource organisation from across the island of Ireland whose work is focussed on younger readers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Applications will be assessed on the basis of the following criteria:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>evidence that they are in a position to capitalise on this opportunity including availability of promotional materials<\/li>\n<li>evidence of track record within the industry<\/li>\n<li>completeness and quality of their application<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Selected delegates will participate in the Ireland Stand to promote their work as agreed with Children\u2019s Books Ireland in line with previous editions of the fair.<\/p>\n<p>The award (\u20ac800 per person for a maximum of two people per organisation) is towards the costs of return flights and a contribution towards accommodation and subsistence.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/applications.cultureireland.ie\/index.php?r=form9\">Click here<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>to apply.<\/p>\n<p>The deadline for submission of completed applications for a delegate bursary is\u00a0<strong>Tuesday 22 September at 5pm.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Call for participation by Irish independent publishers &amp; resource organisations Through grant funding to Children\u2019s Books Ireland, Culture Ireland has supported an Ireland presence at the Bologna Children\u2019s Book Fair over many years.
