From Southampton on the south coast of England, all the way up to Paisley and Dundee in Scotland, audiences across Britain will be able to experience some of the very best Irish music, theatre, dance and visual arts in this year-long celebration of the cultural connections between Britain and Ireland.
Highlights of the month ahead include:
- Several of Ireland's most prominent theatre companies are touring their award-winning works to England and Scotland, including Gare St Lazare Ireland, Malaprop Theatre, Dead Centre & The Abbey Theatre, and Fishamble: The New Play Company and John Scott Dance will perform in London
- Exhibitions by Irish visual artists Christine Mackey, Sean Lynch, Eve Parnell and Chris Leach will open across Britain in May
- 19 Irish artists performing at The Great Escape in Brighton this month at one of the planet's most important music showcases. Dermot Kennedy, Pillow Queens and Wyvern Lingo are among the many performing May 17-19
