Irish films at Toronto International Film Festival 2017
Irish film had a strong presence at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival one of the most prestigious film events of its kind in the world.
Culture Ireland supported the screening of a number of world premieres including Kissing Candice, the directorial debut feature film from Northern Irish director, Aoife McArdle, shot on location in Ireland, which has its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival as part of the Discovery Programme
Also screened with the support of Culture Ireland are Good Favour, The Lodgers and The Cured.
David Freyne’s The Cured is screening in Special Presentation at the festival and Rebecca Daly’s Good Favour is presented in TIFF’s Contemporary Wold Cinema strand. Brian O’Malley’s The Lodgers screens in the Contemporary World Cinema strand, following its success triumph at the Cannes Film Festival.
