Dublin Dance Festival (DDF) is the leading dance event on the Irish arts calendar. This May, the festival once again brings together dance artists and choreographers from across the world to share vibrant contemporary dance with audiences in Ireland
Of particular interest this year is Orginate 2016, a platform for presenting new and recent Irish choreographic work. Over the period of the festival, Originate will showcase a number of ‘First Looks‘ at studio-based works-in-progress (DanceHouse) in addition to presenting complete dance works. Originate is an initiative of Dublin Dance Festival and Dance Ireland, with additional support from Culture Ireland for 'First Looks' and recently performed complete works.
Culture Ireland also supports the Dance Festival through its See Here scheme. This year, 27 international programmers and presenters will travel to Dublin to attend the Festival with travel supports from Culture Ireland. Their visits will include attending many of the Irish performances as well as informal meeting and networking opportunities with Irish choreographers and dance artists.
