ANU Productions in collaboration with HOMEmcr brings you On Corporation Street, a piece which interrogates the IRA bombing of the Arndale Shopping Centre, Manchester. This year marks the twentieth anniversary of this tragedy which resulted in the devastation of the city centre, with 212 people injured. On Corporation Street responds to this seismic event, a pivotal moment that transformed the shape of the city, and ANU will occupy HOME with a series of fearless and personal encounters.
Theatre maker Louise Lowe and visual artist Owen Boss have worked together for the past decade and since 2009 have existed as ANU Productions. Their work is about the history of contemporary life. Working in real environments and slipping between the artificial and the real, ANU are interested in the changing nature of contemporary cultural thinking. ANU are very influenced by theatre, visual art and dance and are particularly fascinated by the energy and spaces that exist between them. They use non-traditional sites and immersive engagement to create shared intimacies between audience and place and audience and performer.
