Céad will feature a vibrant, diverse and high quality programme of Irish arts across a range of artistic disciplines, to reflect on 100 years of Irish culture and to reimagine and explore new creative opportunities.
Included in this unique event are musicians Liam Ó’Maonlaí, Ronan Ó’Snodaigh (KILA) and John Spillane. Also taking part are are poets Stephen James Smith, Martina Evans, Ruth Dudley Edwards, Gerard Smyth and Dave Lordan.
The headline concert on Saturday night will also feature ‘New Airs’, a unique concert, featuring the RTE Contempo Quarter that unites the classical music world with Irish music of the past thirty years. The concert features a live quartet, bodhran, electronics, visuals and special guests. During the day, Céad will host creative cultural workshops, pop-up theatre happening and film screenings.
Sunday will be family day, with a mix of Irish cultural events activities for younger audiences.
