A mini-tour of England from one of Ireland’s most innovative bands, Kíla is going to travel the length of England connecting with Irish communities and with the more recent Irish emigrants. From Manchester, northwards to Stockton-on-Tees and then to London, including an event in Trafalgar Square for the St. Patrick's Day Celebration, Kíla are going to play to many of the 2nd and 3rd generation Irish who have made England their home.
The newly built and impressive Irish World Heritage Centre in Manchester is a statement of the amount of Irish people who populated and still populate Manchester. Further north in Stockton is a population of Irish people who left Ireland dating back to the 18th century. The Irish Centre in London is an important beacon for Irish people who need something to identify with when in one of Europe’s largest metropolis.
