An evening with a trio of Irelands greatest exponents of traditional Irish music, supported by the young music collective, NOTA. Dermot Byrne, former box player with the internationally acclaimed band Altan, joins fiddle player Bríd Harper, and guitarist and singer-songwriter John Doyle. Each of these musicians have been acclaimed as individually brilliant, but together they are really great.
Dermot Byrne is one of Ireland’s finest ‘trad’ musicians. His seemingly effortless playing makes him one of the great accordion players of his generation. A former member of Altan he has collaborated with some of the world’s greatest musicians, including Sharon Shannon, Steve Cooney, Pierre Schryer, Tim O’Brien and the late jazz violinist, Stephane Grappelli. Bríd Harper is a fiddle player from County Donegal, who has been hailed as one of the leading Irish fiddle players of our time. Originally from Dublin, John Doyle is an acclaimed musician, singer and songwriter, who is renowned for playing the guitar left-handed in the most distinctive style. For several decades John has been resident in the USA, where he is a leading member of the globally revered, Irish American band ‘Solas’.
